his life started with a promise. a promise of a marriage and a promise of a throne. it was wrong but his mother has always been a hopeless romantic, blindly putting her trust in love, and so she stayed.

the promise was soon forgotten along with the arrival of a new baby from the queen herself and the departure of a heartbroken mistress with her baby.

he would end up in the orphanage four years later. there was an accident, they said.

he knows who he was and who he's supposed to be. his mother's unsent letters has never failed to remind him every single day of how he is the firstborn of a king and that he was born to be a king.

and he knows that it isn't an accident that kills his mother.
